HOPE. On April 27 Governor Reynolds lifted restrictions for faith organizations to gather. And that has given us hope. As much as we would love to gather right away we will take a wise, safe, and loving approach.

As you know, our Sunday services and family ministry environments are not conducive to social distancing. And social distancing continues to be one of the best ways to love our neighbors and protect our families.

Our staff is actively preparing and following the guidance of local and state public health officials to have plans in place for us to reopen and when we have a date we will let you know.

Until then we will continue to gather online on Sundays.

Thank you for your grace and patience as we work towards worshiping together in person.

Thanks for joining us online Sunday.
The music was hopeful.
The message was encouraging.
And the online chat helped us feel connected.
So, let’s do it again!
We will be gathering for church online at all our regular worship times weekly.

During times when we face the unknown and fear can overtake us, we turn to the Creator of the Universe and His Word.
FAITH – Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5
HOPE – I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2
LOVE – “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'” Luke 10:27
The church has a unique opportunity to show God’s love and a confidence in Him to those around us. See below for Ridge-specific opportunities.
Worship Services
Worship services will be held on-line at 10:30 am Sunday morning until we can gather together again. The situation is every changing and we will be reevaluating continually. Join us online at this week as Pastor Mike shares a message on peace.
If you normally place your tithe or offering in the basket on Sunday morning, you can give online or by mailing your check to the church at 825 NW 36th St. Ankeny, IA 50023.
Prayer & Care
Many people among us are being affected directly by COVID-19 and we want to help. Here are some ways we will be loving on our church family & community…prayer, helping distribute lunches through Ankeny schools, picking up groceries and medicines for people, phone calls to check in on people.

Hey Parents!
You are doing an awesome job! It can be intimidating to have your kids home from school and practice social distancing with little ones, we believe in you. One tool we want to offer is RightNow Media, it has hundreds of kid’s shows and youth studies online or through AppleTV/Roku. If you’re struggling, reach out – we’re in this together!
New Online Groups
With many of us working from home and social distancing, it can be very lonely and isolating. We don’t want that to happen! We are creating online groups that will gather throughout the day to connect. {Join}
Current Groups
All of our groups and classes will be moving to online meetings for the foreseeable future. You will hear from your ministry leader about next steps for your group.
Upcoming Events
All upcoming events and new classes have been delayed to begin after Easter.

Join us here for live stream.

All on-site groups and classes for Sunday are postponed. If you have any questions about your group or class, please contact your ministry leader.
Let us join our whole nation in prayer – to turn our focus to God and His Word, to respond in faith & love, and to be the body of Christ to our community.
Thank you for your patience and grace as we navigate these times.

March 13, 2020

Ridge Family,
First, we want to thank you for your patience and flexibility. Your prayers and encouragement have been awesome! As our current situation develops, we are praying, discussing, and listening while we make decisions on how best to be the church. This situation changes fast and we will continue to be in dialog as the situation evolves.
As of now, we will be holding services as normal this weekend. According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, “there is currently no known community spread of COVID-19 in Iowa and IDPH is not making any recommendations to cancel planned events and mass gatherings at this time.” We encourage online worship for those who are sick and for vulnerable people (older adults, and people who have serious chronic medical conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and lung disease) who don’t feel comfortable being part of a large assembly during this coronavirus season. You can livestream the service each Sunday at 10:30 am at
We will be taking added precautions, in addition to the ones we already shared in our message earlier this week.
  • Offering – We will not pass offering baskets during worship. Offering will be received online, via text by texting “RIDGELIFE” to 77977, or if you are at worship in person, by placing your offering in the boxes at the back of the Worship Center.
  • Prayer – There will be prayer cards under the cross for people to place their prayer requests, someone from the prayer team will follow-up with you. You can also request prayer any time online.
  • Greeting – Instead of a hug or handshake, our welcome team will greet you with a warm smile, a kind word, or a wave.
Here’s how you can help:
  • If you or your children are not feeling well or experience any cold-like symptoms, please stay home. Children with any cold-like symptoms will not be able to attend the nursery. RidgeKids is off this week for Spring Break.
  • We know many of you are traveling for Spring Break, if you or a family member travel to a high-alert area (CDC travel), we urge you to consider refraining from attending church events, classes, and services until the 14-day time-frame has been followed.
  • Follow us on social media to stay up to date with current communications and conversations. We also have created a portal on our website to find out Ridge specific information over for the coming weeks (
  • Many people among us are hurting and our care team is preparing to specifically assist those who are affected directly by the coronavirus. If you want to be a part of this effort, contact
Finally, in His Word God says, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you.” (Isaiah 41:10). If you are having a hard time trusting in His promise, ask for prayer. We have a team in place to pray and care for you. Another thing you can do is fill your home, car, and/or workplace with praise. Worship Leader Allen Kincaid has a set up a Ridge Worship playlist on Spotify to help with this.

Here are the precautions that we are taking at The Ridge:

  • Practice 1 – Wash and disinfect our hands
You will notice bottles of hand sanitizer throughout the building. Use it regularly. Also, let’s wash our hands thoroughly when visiting the bathroom and before coming to church/preschool.
  • Practice 2 – Communion
We will be using individual pre-made juice and wafer cups at all stations for the time being.
  • Practice 3 – Global Cafe
Our cafe team is committed to washing their hands and using sanitizer frequently.  Doughnuts will be sold in the café instead of the self-serve station during this season. (Note: Because of Spring Break, the café will be closed until March 29)
  • Practice 4- Kids
We do a very thorough job sanitizing the kid’s area. We will continue sanitizing the kid’s check-in area and kid’s classrooms and toys. We will also sanitize high touch areas. There is hand sanitizer by each check-in computer. Teachers will be encouraged to monitor behavior that can spread disease. For our large gatherings, we are following the lead of the Ankeny Public Schools. They are working directly with the Polk County Public Health and the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) on the prevention of the Coronavirus.
  • Practice 5- Greeting
The Ridge is known for our hospitality and welcoming environment, but during this season we will not be shaking hands or hugging.  Elbow bumps and air waves are encouraged.
  • Practice 6- Offering
Offering will be received at locked boxes at the back of the worship center before and after each service. You can also give online or via text Text “RIDGELIFE” to 77977.

Here are the precautions that you can take at home:

  • Stay home when you (or your children) are sick or not feeling well. Children with any cold-like symptoms will not be able to attend the nursery.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • If you (or a family member) travel to a high-alert area (CDC travel), we urge you to consider refraining from attending church events, classes, and services until the 14-day time-frame has been followed.
  • From Polk County Emergency Management: No additional or special precautions are recommended for Iowans beyond the simple daily precautions to combat the flu including washing hands frequently, covering coughs and sneezes, and staying home when ill.
