Ridge Pals is a brand new program we are offering for the fall 2020 semester to provide support and encouragement to our students and their parents. We know the world, the city, the schools, and the church are all in a season of “new normals” because of Covid. And this can be a difficult season for a lot of families. We want to be here for our families. We want to literally be in this together. So we are hoping Ridge Pals is a way to do that.
HOW OLD DOES MY KID NEED TO BE TO GET A PAL?
We are offering pals to kids in 1st thru 12th grade.
HOW DO I GET A PAL?
Simply fill out a Ridge Pals – Family Application. Then we will pair your student with his/her very own Ridge Pal.
HOW DO I BE A PAL?
Simply fill out a Ridge Pals – Pal Application. Then we will pair you with your student.
WHAT DOES A PAL ACTUALLY DO?
Here is a list of some of the things a pal might do. Write letters, help tutor, take kids out for ice cream, take kids to the park, play board games, bring lunch, read a book, connect on social media, prayer, attend a kid’s event, keep you in the loop about upcoming Ridge events, shoot hoops, play catch and whatever else you can think of that will help support you and your kids. We hope your kid’s pal can support you however you need it most.
ARE THERE AGE RESTRICTIONS TO BE A PAL?
Our pals can be anyone 16 years old and older.
HOW DO YOU PICK A PAL?
Pals will either volunteer themselves or be asked to volunteer. We will do back ground checks, reference checks, and have them attend a Ridge Pal training.
WHEN WILL MY KID AND HIS/HER PAL MEET?
Pals will spend 30-60 minutes with your student once a week up through December 31st.
HOW LONG DOES A PAL LAST?
Officially, we are asking our pals to make a commitment through December 31, 2020. But it would be cool if a real bond was formed and a true life long friendship was created between your student and their pal.
