Gardening for Good in Madrid
They provide fresh produce for local food banks and food pantries. They are really in need of help right now to help in the garden. This is a great opportunity for families and/or individuals! Call 515-460-4914 to set up a time to help.
Food Bank in Des Moines
Packaging Food at the Food Bank in Des Moines (the greatest need is end of May into June). Volunteer
Alpha Prison Ministry
Alpha Prison Ministry has partnered with Crossroads Prison Ministry to provide mentors to prisoners in the faith walk during this season. Be trained as a mentor
Ronald McDonald House of Des Moines
The Ronald McDonald house is in need of masks for hospital visitors and essential items (lunch meat, fruit cups, applesauce, jello cups, soups cups and can, easy mac cups, juice boxes, granola bars, 13 and 30 gallon trash bags, ziploc bags, hand soap, bleach, clorox wipes, hand sanitizer)
Essential Items can be shipped to or dropped off at 1441 Pleasant St. Des Moines, IA 50314 (drop offs Monday – Sunday 8am-8pm in the vestibule).
Make Masks for Health Care Workers
UnityPoint is asking for people who are able to sew to help make masks. Visit their webpage for more information.
Ankeny Food Boxes
Place food and essential supplies in the Ankeny Helping Hand Boxes located throughout the city (locations).
