Meals from the Heartland
Hunger is unforgiving. Every 10 seconds a child dies of hunger-related issues. And it’s not only a problem halfway around the world in developing countries. It’s right here in Iowa and across our nation too. Behind every disaster — catastrophic storms, fires, pandemics, war — hunger follows to haunt survivors. Meals from the Heartland has been actively and successfully battling hunger for over 13 years, delivering nourished food and hope. Currently, thousands of volunteers come together to package millions of meals each year. Join us and help the hungry.
We are joining the Junkyard’s Day of Love by inviting everyone from The Ridge, age 8 years and above, to come and package meals together. These meals will serve those who are hungry both locally and globally! When you come to serve, you’ll learn more about this amazing ministry and how it is impacting hunger insecurity all over the world, including people in our own community. Bring your family, a friend, a neighbor and join in the packaging fun to help others!
Join us for a church-wide packaging event on Saturday, February 12th. Two shifts available: 9:30-10:30am OR 10:45am-11:45am. Also need set up and tear down crews.
